The Planning Division is responsible for applying the City’s ordinances and regulations to subdivisions, commercial site plans, Conditional Use Permits, and other similar application types. Additionally, this division is responsible for processing applications for zone changes, variances, and other land use applications.
The Planning Division processes all development applications through City staff, Planning Commission, and City Council stages. The Planning staff coordinates other City departments’ review of projects as they are submitted and provides direct assistance to these boards, commissions, and committees. The Planning Division provides assistance and input to the maintenance and updating of the City’s zoning and development codes, the official Zoning and Future Land Use maps, and the City’s General Plan.
